The idea is to design something that would look great for a game.
Well the game itself will be simple... but I figure that doesn't mean that concept art has to be. After all, a lot of the really successful games with low graphics have stunning concept art that can be transformed into a simple video game design. I chose to design a character that could look stunning in concept art but also can be rendered simply in a video game. Whether I win or not, I had fun drawing this, and I hope you all like it. Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactFull of detail, this contest entry is sure to be fun to color. The line quality is clean, the details are neither too much nor lacking, and I could definitely see some kind of game being made using these characters. The woman is a little too short for a head that big, but the proportions are otherwise correct. Also, the paw/foot that is resting on her posterior is at too high an angle for it to belong to the dragon, so I'm not sure why it's there (it also doesn't match the two front paws/feet.) It's almost as if the artist began there, then changed direction and simply forgot to erase it. But other than that, the drawing is solid, and should be interesting to see as video game characters.
