CONTEST HOME

1. Entry must be a coloring of one of these six line art images:
Little Red and Wolf by FalseDelusion
:thumb261883333:
The Six Swans by shirua
Cyber Works by manic-goose
Butterfly Dragonfly by manic-goose
Elegant by manic-goose

2. It has to be new, colored for this contest and submitted to dA after May 20th 2012, with only one exception: images from the postponed coloring contest of last year are being added to the entries for this year automatically

3. You can enter only once for any one set of lines

4. You may enter up to 3 times total

5. You are allowed to switch out an entry for a newer one if you end up coloring one you like more

6. Anyone who donates a prize is welcome to participate by entering as well

7. Alterations are allowed so long as it is clear that it is a colored version of one of the lines. This includes, redrawing the lines so they are cleaner or crisper, flipping the image, making minor modifications to the lines so that it makes sense or fits the style you are coloring in better, adding backgrounds, removing the lines completely, vectoring, printing and painting over, changing the style to a more realistic look, changing the color of the lines, and adding details or extra characters. If you are not sure if an alteration is too much of a change or not, feel free to ask me and the artist who drew it for confirmation before making the change.

8. Make sure any background detail or alterations are tasteful and appropriate for all ages to view

9. You MUST give credit for the lines to the artist who drew them

10. Mention the contest, and include a link to the contest home page ( manic-goose.deviantart.com/jou… ) in the artist comments

11. Textures and bases and patterns are all allowed, but if you use them, you must give credit to the person who made them in your artist comments. I will only score you based on what you actually did yourself.  You do not need to give yourself credit for a pattern texture or base you made yourself.

12. Be polite. Rude behavior during the duration of the contest toward other contestants, judges, contributing artists, or yourself are all strictly prohibited. (Wow, that was very official sounding, but seriously, be nice to one another.) If I catch you insulting, bad mouthing or slandering anyone during the contest, you will be disqualified.

13. No shameless self promotion during the voting for the popular choice award. I know it can be difficult to promote the contest without promoting yourself on accident, so I will be as precise as possible in explaining what that means. It is OK to tell people about the contest, and to invite people to go vote. I encourage it. It is NOT OK to tell people you have an entry in it, which entry it is, or to ask friends to vote for you. Granted, most of your friends will know which is yours, but it is up to them whether they choose to vote for you simply because they know you. I don't encourage it, but I won't hold it against a contestant if that is what their friends do. Also, don't think that you can get away with telling people to vote for you in a note. I will find out, and I have had to disqualify good entries because if it in the past. :(

14. Young artists are 15 or younger upon submitting their entry. If you are 15 when you draw it, I will still consider you for the prize.

15.  In order to be considered for the prize of 15 and younger, mention that you are entering as a young artist in your artist comments where it will be easily visible to me.  Entering as a young artist does not mean that you no longer qualify for other prizes, it only means that you now qualify for one more. It is possible for you to win any of the other prizes.

16. A winner can receive more than one prize. (i.e. popular vote and grand prize for example.)  The only exception is for the 'best of' for each line art and grand prize. If you win the grand prize, it is already clear that it is the best coloring for that set of lines, but the lesser prize for being the best entry for a particular set of lines will go to the next best in line after the grand prize winner. This is to make everything less confusing, and to ensure that more people have people have a chance to win in some way.

That being said, I hope every one as fun with this.  Good Luck to all contestants!

Does it end at the end of August? I tried looking for the closing date.
